Sunrise Project was founded by Geraldine Cox AM in 1993 under the auspices of the Australia Cambodia Foundation Inc. which is International non-governmental, non-profitable, not political and non-religious organization, focused on Child Welfare, education, health care and community outreach programs in Cambodia with operations in Phnom Penh, Kandal, Siem Reap, Kampong Speu and Sihanouk Ville. Sunrise project has been officially registered as independent local Non-Governmental Organization named Sunrise Cambodia on 23 November 2015 after 21 years in providing high quality residential care for orphaned, trafficked, abandoned, disabled and impoverished children and Sunrise Cambodia is now tackling bold initiatives essentially in education, health and community development.
Our vision is to break the poverty cycle and transform the lives of impoverished children and communities in Cambodia. We are transforming lives.
Our purpose is to raise educational standards, improve health and strengthen economic community development. We seek solutions in cooperation with our Cambodian partners and local communities.
Our values are based on a belief in creating a better and different life, and building competence, accountability, compassion, integrity and collaboration. Sunrise respects the values, beliefs, culture and livelihoods of the Cambodian communities in which we work. We do not influence religion. We make it a priority to employ Khmer people to lead and manage our operations in Cambodia.
