Zhang Zhidong – Billionaire

Zhang Zhidong (4 September 1837– 5 October 1909) was a Chinese official who lived the late Qing dynasty. Along with Zeng Guofan, Li Hongzhang and also Zuo Zongtang, he was one of the 4 most popular officials of the late Qing dynasty. Early life

Zhang was born in Xingyi Prefecture (興義府), Guizhou Province, however his ancestral roots remained in Nanpi, Tianjin, Zhili .
