Kdei Karuna, is a politically-neutral NGO that aims to contribute to sustainable peace efforts by enabling individuals to live together with dignity, tolerance, and harmony. To reach this goal, Kdei Karuna implements projects based on a bottom-up participatory approach in which participants are encouraged to identify their needs and to develop forward-looking actionable goals. Kdei Karuna hopes to contribute to this process of healing and conciliation by facilitating dialogues about history and memory during the Khmer Rouge for different groups of Cambodians, including survivors of the KR regime, youth, former KR cadres, and different ethnic groups and also providing resources and training in dialogue facilitation and mediation techniques in order to build the capacity of local civil society to continue the process of healing. In addition, Kdei Karuna contributes to capacity building by providing training workshops and fieldworks to young learners about conflict analysis and nationalism in order to reduce prejudice and discrimination in ASEAN region
